the speed reading book buzan

How well do you read? Notice, I did not ask "How fast do you read?" I asked a very different question: "What well do you read? "

Like me, you may have liked to read much faster than you. There may be a stack of books from their shelves, covered with dust, the books that you wish you had time to read the books you want you can read faster, to fit the time you have available.

What prevents you from reading your book collection? Is it really the time and you sure are a slow reader? Maybe you're wrong and is, in fact, no of two reasons.

For most of my life, I believed that I am a slow reader. Do not bother to clarify that I was comparing me until I was reader with a photo of experts recently and I realized I could read, and he, as long as wanted. In fact, I realized that, without being able to read effectively and efficiently, I would not have been able to study and pass all my exams from basic GCSE level several degrees including an MBA. This has been the revelation. It freed me the willingness to attend very expensive "quick read" or "Photo reading" courses.

Ask yourself, "What is my belief about my reading ability? "" Who am I comparing myself with? "

If you believe that your friends, colleagues and bosses, read much better you, what are they doing differently? Which is what you are doing? Are you following the effective reading strategies?

Here are some that I use:

Strategy 1

Environment: Make sure you are physically comfortable and that you are able to breathe properly. Folding legs on the sofa is a great position to sleep, but she will do as well in reading effectively. His abdomen should be clear of obstructions to take a full breath of air, regularly. Also, the back should be well supported so as not to interrupt his reading by continuing need to change positions.

Put your foot on a reading table so that you are facing the same way you look at a computer screen (not placed on the table). If the book is put on the table, note that your eyeballs have not been as peripheral vision of what they are focused straight ahead. When you're driving a car, rely on peripheral vision to be aware of what is happening to his left and right. It would be a good driver if he looked all the time. Similarly, a reader will be much better if you look ahead, if you look down.

Strategy 2

Purpose: Make sure you know why you're reading the book. Start with a very clear intention. What are you looking for? Entertainment? Information? Inspiration? The more specific purpose, usually easier to decide whether the book is for you. If your goal is to find the information relevant to the assignment or article you need to write, effective readers usually scan the content page, headings and subheadings to find what you want. If your goal is to have a general idea of the book to help you decide whether to buy, for example, which of course browse the pages to view if you care. This does not mean that all books purchased are to be read by you. Its purpose could not have been clear when I bought the book, or specific purpose no longer be relevant. There's a time and place for everything and when you decide what your purpose, you will know if the book is meant to be read now, or in fact ever, for you. This strategy can also help clarify some of their dusty shelves and make room for the books that really deserve special attention in the present.

Strategy 3

Read the book with the mind instead of your eyes: Your mind is full of knowledge and all the new information received catches the current knowledge in order to make sense. So rather read people tend to read much faster, being able to recognize and make sense of a great amount of material that have not seen before and who use their prior knowledge to predict what the author says. When you are reading with your mind, imagine that you are having a conversation with the author of the book and this might give you ideas that are not evident in the words to do with their physical eyes. Our favorite books are often those where that the author talks with underlying messages that are triggered when a connection between the mind of the author and the reader's mind.

If you use these three strategies so effective, no doubt, an effective and efficient reader and you continue to improve as your mind learns to recognize patterns in familiar language, family, family-friendly content. The most organized existing knowledge in his mind, the greater the likelihood that new information will be easily assimilated and integrated to improve their skills understanding and ability to communicate their understanding. So what is your current beliefs about their reading skills?
