Jeet Kune Do exercises?
I'm reading the Tao of Jeet Kune Do, I hope spelled it right, anyway, I see all the exercises to practice techniques. Or some examples of speed training, agility, balance, etc. I havent finished the book yet, but I moved through it and havent seen anything in detail. Is there a website I see these or other Jeet Kune Do books / DVDs for. Thank you. Arent There are some places to train in JKD around where I live, I hope to learn the basics until they move to an area where there will be a school. I live in Burnet, Texas, by the way, if anyone knows of a school thats around me I just cannot find online. Thanks again.
David, I have some comments for you: I think this is wrong. Autoformación at best mimic techniques. It leads to the wrong technique, and misperceptions, which will have to fix later. Re-learning any technique takes more time learning right the first time. Do not get me wrong, I'm not putting down. My experience (more than 41 years/35 of the art military training) has proven time and again this is the case. Why not find a good martial arts school in your area and start there. In future perhaps there is a Jeet-Kune-Do instructor. For now it would be good to develop skills faster with an instructor. The style is not as important as finding a good instructor. That is difficult in most places and almost impossible in others. what every time you decide to stay away from schools that sell black belt contracts. They are only taught belt grinders little value and are great to take your money. Regarding your comment about the Tao of Jeet Kune Do not have exercises in it, is simply a book created from some of the notes of Bruce Lee did during his life. It was never intended to be published by him. It was decided to print in book form after Lee died. It was never conceived as a book or mode of instruction. Best of Luck! Get training!
