Refine cable modem?
I just got a cable modem (12 Mbps up/1.5mbps below). I have it connected via Ethernet. Im wondering if you can modify to make it faster. I know I've read about how you can "upcap" but if caught by the ISP, be prohibited lifetime, and I've read is impossible, because once you reconnect overight my changes. I was wondering if there s anything else I can do to tweak it (programs, the configuration change, etc.). I have a computer with Windows Vista, quad core, 6GB RAM, 1TB HD, 1GB of dedicated video card. Is it possible to adjust to achieve speed of just over her? I upload lots of video / photo 's online to share with relatives living in other states. Thanks for any input / Info. I mean 12down/1.5up
There is not anything you can do. Certainly, if we can uncover, they will overwrite the configuration. They monitor the total usage data. I'm sure if the total loading and unloading is not possible with your allocated bandwidth, one will notice.
