Learning the piano and music theory?
Hello (: I've been playing piano for several years, and I've been pretty self-taught. I chose the music for GCSE and the school gives a music lesson free with a proper teacher, so I'm improving. The thing is though, I struggle with sight reading, actually has begun to reach the nerves. I understand the scores, but for me, the reading speed is really very difficult. I'm thinking of getting a tutor because I sit back. How long does it take for you to be able to read fluently scores? Do you have any advice? As I said, sit back and trying to sight-read music is giving me a headache ..
sightreading start with easy passages. As you well in these, try harder. I'm sure you can find books on the Internet sightreading. Sightreading also struggle with the piano, but not my main instrument, so it does not take too competence in it. Just keep practicing and using all the piano books that must help.
