When you were a toddler, you probably talked out loud to himself. Maybe she had a playmate invisible. Perfectly normal. Today is keep the internal dialogue, but are silent.
A study by scientists suggests that it is common to ask questions and discuss the possibilities between you, you and your shadow. We tested our ideas internally, even before they make written or word processing notes.
Problem / solution is a format standard. Later we took the best results and maintain a dialogue with others to test our ideas.
Reading
If you are in first grade, and only learned to read sentences or have a doctorate and writing textbooks, you hear every word you read on the page, in your mind.
Specifically, internal dialogue takes place in our primary auditory cortex. It's like you have a homunculus (little man) sportscaster in his brain by reading the words on the page to you.
Oh yes, auditory reinforcement, hearing the words while reading or writing them, improves concentration and memory over time.
The secret is in Congress never passed a law that you had to hear every one-and-every word you read. You do not have to hear every syllable or word spoken slowly and articulately.
Please listen – you can slide through them quickly, and depend on your eyes to remember the form of words – no sounds. Why? Mentally pronouncing each syllable of a word you slows to a snail. It is not necessary for learning and memory take place.
How Come
Listening to our inner voice (inner dialogue) is an auditory signal (trigger) for understanding complex ideas. It makes learning easier – at the expense of slow to a crawl.
Second reason for self-talk is to improve memory. The aging affects memory most of us (not SpeedLearners). When we engage in an internal conversation about the steps to do something – put the letter in his pocket, go to the mailbox, and check the address, and place in – Is a story that improves memory.
If you absolutely want to remember where you parked the car and put the keys to the house – you need to be a little beyond creative to say to yourself – to do so. Cognition and long-term memory function when the brain recognizes the memory-trick as the novel unique and even strange.
Photo of the owl that delivered the letters in the Harry Potter books. See mentally sitting on his left shoulder. Guaranteed you remember to send your own letter.
Make a mental movie of a six feet short of brine reading a letter – out of proportion. Exaggeration, the look ridiculous, or funny (humorous) makes our idea of mind to take note and remember. Associate what you want to recall the mental image uneven and you have it.
Recording of brain electrical activity
MIT released Brain Research 16 December 2006 (published in Nature Neuroscience, written by D. Ji et al.) Explaining the effects of electrical noise bursts in the brain. The researchers were able to reproduce the actual dialogue recorded.
Get this: there is a dialogue Standing between the hippocampus and neocortex of our brain. The hippocampus is down the first memories that occur through our daily experiences.
During not dream the dream our neocortex (thinking, organization and analysis of brain structure) communicates with the hippocampus and decide what to keep for memory long-term (major) and what to delete (spam).
The neocortex is composed of neurons on the outer surface of the brain for organizing thought conscious and long-term memories.
Four Types of Learning Styles
We all use of the four, but one more favor from the other three.
a) Visual / Verbal – that absorb information better by reading. Your brain learns faster using written language format. What else? PowerPoint, textbooks and outlines. Think in terms of words.
b) Visual / Nonverbal – These people learn best by seeing visual aids. Show them a DVD, maps, tables, graphs, images and icons. Use symbols to communicate better with your brain.
c) Kinesthetic / Tactile – In support of these students in mathematics, engineering and science. They love learning. Procedural memory involves learning to ride a bike, drive a car, using computers and the Internet, and typing. They favor the sense of touch, and live demonstrations.
d) hearing students – to learn by listening to a professor drone and remember the rhythm of his speech. These people are not very well in a team (group) learning. It captures the sound of words, along with the ideas behind the spoken word.
Hearing learns love CDs and MP3s, and practically memorized them. Even learn to listen to their own presentations.
Coda: When you are communicating with a group, include something for each of these four learning styles – to cover the bases. Each of us uses all four styles, but one is dominant. Hearing is favored by 30%,
Visual – Both verbal and nonverbal is used by approximately 51%. The balance, about 20% is tactile / kinesthetic dominance.
Endwords
The Recent research indicates that lifelong learning improves longevity – a neuroscientist beliefs up to 10-15 years. Dr. Yaakov Stern, Colombia University Medical Center, writes that can reduce the risk of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia for lifelong learning.
Would there be a significant competitive advantage for the skill career of reading three books, articles and reports at the time of his teammates can not finish one?
We suggest reading the 3x and 2x as long as your memory long term – is to improve health, and contributes to its longevity. We wonder how – now.
See you,
