What is the best way to accelerate human progress search times when reading a printed matrix or spreadsheet?
I regularly have to use huge spreadsheets at work and manually review them to start the information from one of them. The accuracy is critical, but I think often poorly collected, and location of specific cells appears to be a slow process. Is there a way to speed up my look-up and improve accuracy? NOTE: Using a computer is not an option.
Using a computer should be an option. I suggest you tell your boss that it's ridiculous that his company is losing time looking through these spreadsheets manually. Tell him to think about productivity and increases accuracy was obtained when the process was automated using a computer interface. If necessary, put on your home computer and request access to a computer spreadsheet. And do not let anyone tell you that access can not be obtained. That data can be accessed in an effective and efficient. Start working to make that happen. And, make it happen, you will be rewarded with a promotion and pay raise. I guarantee it.
